Lehmen

Historical wine-making region with a long-standing tradition

The name of the old wine region came from the Celtic Lomena. In 865 A.D., Lehmen was first officially mentioned and looks back on a long-standing wine-making tradition. However, it's not just wine making that shapes the Moselle way of life in Lehmen. The 'Lehmensart’ cultural initiative brings traditional music, theatre and literature to the stage.  The ‘Lehmer Razejungen’ promote the culture of traditional wine growing in the Lower Moselle area. The freestanding Roman clock tower dating back to the 11th century is an architectural symbol of the town. Lehmen stretches from the Moselle to a high plateau in the Moselsürsch district.
